BOOK EXCERPTS - Route 606 - The Driver Family - THE BEGINNING

My interest in the DRIVER family came about by accident.  In 1987 I was going through some personal papers belonging to my recently deceased mother (Geraldine Willanet JACKSON) and came across the beginnings of a Family Tree.  At first I put the papers aside, but I was drawn back to these papers and have not been able to stop ever since.  I have had to take breaks over the years due to my family obligations, burnout and career restraints.  I had always heard stories about the family as I was growing up, but never thought about its origins.  I often wondered if the claims of Indian blood were true and if so, what tribe.  I remember looking at relatives and seeing their light complexions and wondering why were they so light.   My research finally shed some light on the subject and will be discussed later in the book.
